Where the Fishing is Wild!
Wild Rainbow Trout in Anahim Lake and BC’s Legendary Dean River
TROUT FISHING at ANAHIM LAKE
Fly Fishing, Trolling & Spinning
Anahim Lake, is located 322 km (199.64 mi) west of Williams Lake, BC, on Hwy #20 and is known for it’s abundance of native rainbow trout. While you will enjoy success catching wild rainbow trout by trolling or spin casting, the lake is ideally suited for fly fishing. Fly fishing is very productive in early summer and fall but it is good throughout the season. Our trout range in size from 1 ½ pounds up to 4-pounds. Prepare for a wild fight!
The legendary Dean River meanders from it’s headwaters into Anahim Lake. This upper headwater section of the river is accessible by boat and provides excellent fly fishing for it’s resident wild rainbows and opens in mid-June. For day trips, BC’s Chilcotin region offers many nearby lakes and rivers teaming with trout, all within driving distance from your basecamp at Anahim Lake Resort.
We are known as a family fishing resort. The younsters will enjoy fishing as much as the adults. Infact, many children catch their first fish at here. Licenses, worms and a wide variety of tackle are available at the lodge.
