OUR REGION

THE CHILCOTIN REGION OFFERS VISITORS STUNNING SCENERY AND WILDERNESS ADVENTURES!

DIVERSITY is the keyword to your Anahim Lake visit. Anahim Lake is a land of dramatic contrasts with many variations in landscape where spreading timbered wilderness is dotted with cattle ranches and trout filled streams and lakes. The country hospitality will make you feel right at home. The climate is generally sunny and cool, and the average number of sunshine hours each day are the highest in June to September, making this a ‘fisherman’s paradise’.

HIKING trails in nearby Tweedsmuir Provincial Park provide access to visitors. The Rainbow Range Trail is one of BC’s most stunning hiking and horsebacking trips; dazzling rainbow coloured mountains, alpine meadows alive with colorful flowers and breaktaking views. Or, hike to one of the many crystal clear glacial lakes and photograph hanging glaciers. Day hikes or overnight, the Chilcotin so much to offer.

ANAHIM VILLAGE consists of three general stores, bakery, post office, pub, motel, 2 gas stations, chapel, medical nurse’s station and last, but not least, lot of “friendly folks”. Anahim Lake Airport is at 3,700 feet, 52 degrees, 27 minutes north, 125-18 minutes west on 123.2 frequency. The NDB range is good for 175 miles on channel 200. Land safety and easily on the 4,500 foot paved runway.

THE ANAHIM STAMPEDE is an annual rodeo held on the 2nd weekend of July. Your weekend will be filled with “Old Fashioned, Wild West Rodeo” events, laughter, dancing and memories for a lifetime.

HUNTING for big game and waterfowl opens in September. We advise you to book your dates as early as possible. Contact us for more information.
